How did I read this book? Well, mostly sitting in my little booknook, with fairy lights on and a pot of tea, getting my hygge on. Between that and the fact that reading about happiness frequently makes me happy... well, that was quite a nice experience.

Time to maximize the cozy! I enjoyed this very much, especially since moving to the Pacific Northwest where we have somewhat dreary winters (not sure that we can compete with Denmark, however!). I thought it would be nice to learn from their attitude of coziness so that winter can be a pleasant time rather than a wet, cold slog. This is a gorgeous little book, wasn’t quite what I expected but was a nice overview of the concept of hygge and what it means to the Danes. A little bit about sociology, a bit about design, all about Denmark and what makes it special.
