A great opening followed by a good story, which means the whole thing feels like a bit of a letdown. I enjoyed my time with this family, but won't soon forget about the iconic christening party where I first met them all.

The characters in this book were well developed and the writing was good, but it jumped around too much for me to feel invested. 3.5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a perfect combination of family history, mystery and all the stories weaving into each other. None of it felt contrived. Ann Patchett does not disappoint!
Couldn't get through it - plot and characters didn't grip me.
