Ahh, more North American girls falling in love with Japanese boys! I first learned of Ink through a Goodreads YA Cover Contest in June 2013. I was excited to see that the author had spent time in Osaka, but this book takes place in Shizuoka. Never the less, it was enjoyable to see Japanese high school life play out through the eyes of a North American student. I wasn't sure what to rate this book, because I am waffling on whether to continue the series, or stop. I rated it 3 stars because I liked the mythological and cultural elements.

To preface, I am a huge fan of Japanese literature, such as Murakami, Banana Yoshimoto, and Tanazaki and fictional accounts of Japanese culture by non-Japanese authors, such as Clavell.
