I enjoyed the premise of this book especially the idea of emergency dessert orders. My biggest complaint is the fact the amateur sleuth is a bit of an airhead when trying to solve the murder. There is an obvious source of a clue that Winnie doesn’t look at til the latter part of the book. She has a perfectly good source in her possession that she looks at several times before the lightbulb moment. The second in the "Emergency Squad Dessert" series, this story heats up when Winnie delivers a blackberry crisp to a student at a local college, and is the prime suspect when the girl is found dead with blue stains on her mouth. There are several other issues going on, one of which is Winnie's possible love interest, whom she believes thinks she is responsible for the murder. Winnie and her friends sort through many red herrings to find the truth and to get her baking business back on track.
