A fascinating story of adventure and the pursuit of knowledge, and a window into a time of exploration that's largely gone now. It's amazing to think back on what Lewis and Clark achieved for the country. ...more

Thoroughly enjoyed this book on the great voyage of Captain Meriwether Lewis (and his right-hand man, Clark). Ambrose does a great job painting the preparation for the great exploratory trip Lewis & Clark & their Discover Corps made from the Mississippi all the way northwest & ultimately along the great Columbia River to the Pacific Ocean. What a journey--and a return trip as well.
