The second entry in this excellent mystery series, this book finds Sebastian trying to solve the murder of a young noblewoman whose body is found dead in the Prince's Cabinet Room during one of his parties. There is also a plot brewing to overthrow the current monarch (mad George III) and his son, which ties somehow into the murder. Sebastian St Cyr is attending a party when a murdered woman is found dead in the arms of the Prince regent. Sebastian is drawn into the investigation because a necklace that belonged to his mother, who was presumed to have drowned when Sebastian was a child, is found around the murdered woman's neck. There was a lot of detail information about this time period. I like the main character and the recurring characters and the humor of Sebastian constantly ruining his clothes.
