The story of Harry Potter continues picking up 19 years after Deathly Hallows. The play mainly focuses on Harry's middle child Albus and his friendship with Scorpius Malfoy, Draco's son. I think it would be really great to see this as a play. I'd like to see how they do all the scene transitions and how they handle one scene that is set underwater. This book wasn't as satisfying as the first 8 books in the Harry Potter series, mostly because it was so different. It's not quite as fun seeing favorite characters all grown up tackling adult problems. However, it was special in its own way - like having the chance to have some time with Snape again or finding out that Malfoy's son Scorpius is really the smart, persevering heart of the next generation. While I enjoyed this new perspective on the Harry Potter family/word, it could have been so much more. I think that I would have preferred this in actual novel form, but this was good. It was also a very quick read, and I do see myself reading it again at some point. I did enjoy the character development of both characters new and old. I would LOVE to see the actual play. I do hope that it comes to Iowa City or somewhere close someday.
