What Members Thought
WOW! One of the best works of realistic historical fiction I have ever read. The author takes you right back to the Chicago during Prohibition. The fictional characters she makes up come across as real as the ones who really did once exist. I like how real the story is, the mobsters are really bad guys, not heroic robin hood-like figures like some authors tend to make them, yet they are also human, they have their good sides too. A must read for anyone who likes historical fiction.
This was a very engaging read. The time period and the landscape, not the mention the characters were well drawn.
