This is supposed to be a prequel for the DS Alex Cupidi series. as a character, Alex is not really someone whom I am wanting to read more about. She is a single mom with a teenage daughter trying to work as a police detective. She is a single mom with a teenage daughter trying to work as a police detective. She seemed to become "chummy" with William pretty quickly and relied on him to help out with her daughter within a week of moving to the town. Seemed a bit much as she had just left a job in London because she had been having an affair with a colleague. Anyway, William figures out who the murderer was and also faces the consequences of the death of his own father from 40 years prior. ...more
