I'm pretty sure I read this for an adolescent psychology course. I dreaded it because I hate science fiction but was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. Not that I've ever finished the series..........

I remember trying to read this when I was a kid and stopping a little over a chapter or so into it. At the time I thought it was boring. I am not sure if I couldn't relate to the "fantasy" world or the lack of female characters. So I gave this book another go at the age of 29. I have seen the movie. This time around, I was much more impressed. The beginning was hilarious and engaging and charming. It felt like a story that was dying to be read out loud and one to read to children. I was surprise

Here we go again with the protagonist passing out and waking up to have the big conflict mostly resolved. (not unlike The Sorcerer's Stone and The Book of Three) Regardless, this is a must-read! An epic adventure to be enjoy.
