🌟🌟🌟and a half stars. This was a sweet WWII novel about 3 women involved in the war in very different ways. I listened to the audiobook and it was in first person narrative from each of the women’s standpoints, based on true events but historical fiction. Each chapter was one of the 3 women as narrator and easy to follow. For me the Holocaust women’s was the most important and tragic for obvious reasons. Excellent fictionalization of a true story. It is a re-telling of a little-known episode of WWII, the case of Polnish women prisoners, subjected to experimental surgery and treatment in women's concentration camp.

I liked the first 2/3 of this book quite a bit and then things sort of unraveled for me in the last 1/3 :(
