Given how much I hated the only other Liane Moriarty book I listened to, it almost feels like I loved this one. I found it entertaining and enjoyable, and appreciated the slow build up and character arcs. I'll probably give it another year or so before I read another of hers because I still feel like the trashiness relies somewhat on misogyny (oh my the crazy ladies and former strippers!) but that's better than the "never again!" I was shouting from the roof tops last time.

I've come to the realization that Moriarty's book are just not for me. The main problem with this book is that the going back and forth in time to tell the story simply doesn't work. In my opinion, it would have read better if Moriarty had just told the story outright. The other issue that I have with the book is that the author tries to layer on too many themes in regard to the development of the characters.
