Not necessarily so, and here is a lucid description of one family's journey in this situation. We see everyone's point of view, and the gradual post-traumatic isolation as they all go spinning off into their own orbits, then begin to recover. Or do they?

This book was a real and searching look at what trauma can do to a family. I enjoyed hearing the story from the perspectives of all family members. However, the more I think about the end, the more I think it was a cop-out. I don't want to ruin it but there was such anguish and unknowing throughout the whole book and then it tied up a little too neatly for my taste. Overall though, I think it's an interesting read and I would definitely recommend it.
