I really recommend this book. My only complaint is that for some reason I could have put down the book - I didn't feel driven to move on. But, I'm so glad I did and I've been thinking about it a lot since I finished.

Edit: I read the physical book and it was more enjoyable than the audiobook. I'm not counting the reread though. I'm just glad I gave it another chance. I'm adding a star for the Casablanca hat tip.

Everything historical fiction should be and more. Alexander is a lovable, compelling, funny, and charming character. There were so many emotional moments that I was brought to tears more than once. There was literary depth to the writing. I feel like I learned a great deal about Russia during the revolution.
