This is one of two Ramona books that was chosen as a Newbery Honor Book, but I didn't love it as much as the first three books in the eight-book series. It deals with some disturbing real-life drama concerning Ramona's father. The primary issue is that he's lost his job and quite naturally that puts him in a sad mood.
