This story kept me in continuous anticipation since you didn't ever really know how things came to be and what things really were. And I must say that worked for me :)
I also enjoy when a story makes me question black and white, making me more of a shades of grey person. You feel one thing about a person and then get to the heart of their actions and your perception changes, another aspect I love in books!

Melanie is a 10 year old girl who is kept in a cell. She's brought to class each day strapped to a wheelchair. Her favorite teacher is Ms. Justineau. Gradually we learn more about what's going on and as events unfold Melanie along with four others are on the run. The story alternates between the perspectives of the five main characters. I had an idea of the initial twist but didn't predict the end which was nice. An interesting spin on this genre.

And shows that hope can be found as well as trust even when not expected.
So not my usual genre and yet I liked it very much and wanted to listen to it every chance I got. That’s a ...more
