Overall, an interesting perspective on gender roles in the workplace. I think that it's difficult for someone of Sandberg's stature to provide advice that any female can use in her career. Even so, Sandberg tries her best to make herself like everyone else and to generalize her experiences.

Reading this after a recent failed attempt to lean in and aggressively pursue advancement is something I only recommend for the self-flagellating, but Sandberg raises some interesting ideas here. While it's a very surface treatment (the fact that this is a slim volume by a non-scientist should clue that), I appreciate her honesty about breaking down the good-girls-don't-talk-about-that barriers. The book makes many good points on women and leadership and the way they are perceived in addition to the absolute necessity of women standing up for each other.
Mostly anecdotal situation from Sheryl's own life, but given her powerful position in Tech companies like google and facebook, she is an example to be emulated for women wanting to break through in this male-dominated industry. ...more
