I love Amy Poehler. She's delightful and quirky. The best kind of funny in my opinion. However, her book was part memoir, part random self-help with glimpses of pure wit and laugh out loud paragraphs. That being said, I enjoyed books by Mindy Kaling, Tina Fey, David Sedaris, and yes... Even Chelsea Handler.... More than this one. If I want mindless reading, I want more laughs. I still love you Amy Poehler. But you are a better comedian than you are a writer.

I friggin' love Amy Poelher. Pretty certain we're already friends in an alternate universe. And this book made me love her EVEN MORE.
Yes Please is a good, wholesome, authentic girl-chat session. As a fellow creative, it has some really comforting (even slightly life-changing) advice in it for getting through the junk that comes with being a woman in show business. This is the first book I've listened to on audio tape and it is one that really begs to be listened to rather than read by one's self. Amy is a performer not a memoirist and listening to her narrate allows you to experience her at her best. She laughs at herself, plays the organ for you, and shares poetry she wrote in 8th grade.
