Good story for those who like cop "who done it" stories, but I thought it was all over the place. It changed point of view, and depicted a 13-year-old boy who could go without sleep for days, had the courage of a lion, could get cut and bashed up and not blink an eye, and was just an over all super-human. There were inconsistencies. At one point, they say Johnny's house is a crime scene and that it would be a couple of days before they could stay there. That night, they sleep there. Also, Johnny

Ok, so I stayed up way too late last night to finish this one, but it was worth it. First, I would classify this thriller-suspense novel as literary fiction, since it is that well-written. Second, the story is an interesting and very good one. It's about a 13-year old boy who is on a mission to find his missing twin sister after his family falls apart as a result of her abduction. Lastly, the characters felt like such real people to me that it was easy to imagine this story happening in any smal

This is a solid mystery book, decent storyline, good ending, but nothing really special in my opinion, that could make this book getting 4 stars from Goodreads. I can't connect well with the characters. Johnny is too old for his age, and much more clever than the cops. He has a mother who's too sad to actually care about him, because her daughter is missing and her husband left her. I don't really like the hero, detective Hunt, who's actually too smitten with Johnny's mom to actually do his job

For those who like their mysteries gritty and good, with lots of texture and multi-levels in them, this is just the thing. It is the story of a policeman who simply cannot let go of a case, the disappearance of a young girl a year earlier, and of the girl's brother, who is determined to find his sister no matter what risk to him his search may be. It is a roller-coaster ride that grabs you and doesn't let you go until the last page.

Story of a young boy's (He is 13)search for his twin sister who has been missing for a year. Sad but heartwarming tale of the persistance of a kid who feels a strong bond with his sibling. A surprising ending.

I have really enjoyed this book. If I had read it I would certainly qualify it as a page turner, since I usually listen while driving back and forth from work ... I was looking forward for the drive.
The plot was very nicely developped and I did not see the end coming at all (OK maybe the last few pages, but ...)
It get a little bit of time to get used to the narrator ... but once you get into the book, the voice, the tone, the accent all fit nicely with the story.

Had to abandon this for several reasons. I found it stretching the boundaries of believability several times in the space of thirty pages and I'm finding it emotionally manipulative. The pages do turn though, and it may work for others. Just not my thing.
