Wow! What a powerful short story. The beginning reminds me of my own difficulties with post-partum depression. But how sad that she slips further away and it happens so quickly due to the imposed isolation treatment plan.

This is one amazing little book. A highly feminist story that deals with the role of women as wife and mother and how many succumb to the pressures and lose who they are individually and tend to give up on their dreams. (I know there are probably to many "ands" in that sentence) The story is narrated by a woman who is confined after the birth of her child to cure her "nervous condition". She is confined to a room with yellow wallpaper. I would compare this book to The Awakening by Kate Chopin an
