What Members Thought
Not really my kind of book. The relationship of the main character and her husband makes me wonder why they had gotten married to begin with. The son of these people at age 11 or 12 seemed a lot more mature than his parents.
I avoid the term chick lit -- even though we may use it for fun, it seems a pretty light term for a well-written book like this one. The main character Samantha goes through crises that many of us will go through, if not already. The story is told intelligently, with feeling. I like the title because it does reflect the open quality of the story. I havent been fortunate enough to read any of her other writings, so thanks to a lady in one of my book groups for suggesting this one.
Left me feeling flat. I might try another one of her books though.
