I thought that this book was great. Near the end, it became a little over the top, but I couldn't stop reading it. The story is about a boy "coming of age" in Baton Rouge, LA during the late 1980s. One of his friends in the neighborhood gets attacked, and he tells the story of what happened after that from his perspective. Walsh's use of this narrative approach is unique and very effective.
