I can really only handle reading novels about WWII about once or twice a year. I had heard so much about this one that I wanted to check it out for myself. Hannah's writing is fast-paced; I found myself wanting to read "just one more chapter." I devoured this novel in between meetings, before bed; I even read it while I brushed my teeth. Even though Hannah does rely on a lot of cliches in her writing, she very accurately captures the landscapes and scenes of WWII France. I felt like I was there.
