I was drawn to That Night because of the Vancouver Island setting (plus the fact that I love thrillers). My mom is from Vancouver, B.C. and every time we visited family in Vancouver we were sure to take the ferry over for a day on Vancouver Island. During our visits, we primarily stayed in the capital city, Victoria, taking high tea at The Empress Hotel and visiting Butchart Gardens. That Night gave me a completely different “experience” of Vancouver Island than my more polished touristy visits ...more
