I actually read The Off-Season, Murdock's sequel to Dairy Queen, before I read this, but I'd actually recommend reading them in order. (I read them in the order I could get them from the library.) this book grew on me. I don't know if I'd say it moooooooooo-ved me (ha. ha. Sorry. cheap cow humor), but it certainly was charming and fresh. At first the FMC seemed a little... well... repetetive and (I hate to say it) dumb. I liked the angsty family, and the drama related there, but I really did feel like her parents were taking terrible advantage (even sabotaging her future) their daughter.
