I received this book in a GR giveaway in exchange for an unbiased review.
I find McEwan's writing to be exceptional, and over time, his writing has evolved to where he has been able to become more concise in his storytelling without losing any punch in how he presents it. The Children Act certainly falls into this category. This was a 3.5 read for me.
While I have not read all of McEwan’s books those that I have read appealed to me because of the emotional intensity of the storylines that often simmers to a boiling point that often seems unexpected and the author’s use of language to get me engaged in the story. The Children Act lives up to the expectations I was anticipating.
