Here was another great, non-fantasy work by one of my favorite authors. I generally enjoy his more fantastic tales a bit more, but this one had a plot that struck me right in the heart. I have also felt the sting of losing people whom I loved very much, seemingly at the drop of a hat, and out of nowhere as Tsukuru does in this novel.
Why only three stars? I felt the ending was a bit weak here, and it really leaves the reader hanging a bit, with one major unresolved conflict going on.

I find Murakami to be an intriguing author and I really enjoyed this book.
