Maybe I'm just not the intended audience for this, I don't know. The thing is, I love the premise of this series. But in the end, I think the execution was just okay. The weird thing to me is that in this particular series, I think the first book is the weakest. For me, the second book was the strongest and then the end seemed a bit forced, but this trilogy did at least finish stronger than it started, which was nice since so many go downhill after the first book. ...more

I devoured the trilogy back-to-back over a short time, so frequent references explaining the plot of previous books wore on me (especially when these books are pushing 600 pages). The beginning was a bit boring, but the middle/end really picked up.

The ending left me with too many questions though. This trilogy definitely feels unfinished, which I hope means there will be more to Matthew and Diana's story :) ...more

Although this is definitely not my genre, the author was consistent enough in her imagined world that it made sense. Not that I would ever want to love in that world or live even half as long as some of the characters.

An entertaining enough story, granted, but in real need of a decent editor. A Discovery of Witches was definitely the best of the three novels.
