Well this is a different book by Vonnegut, less humorous, less cynical a little more loving.

This book is the fictional autobiography of Rabo Karabekian, second generation Armenian immigrant, war veteran and abstract painter, who appeared as a minor character in Breakfast of Champions. I admit to avoiding Vonnegut for much of my natural-born life. I had a notion that he was self-important, and lacking emotional depth. This book proved me quite wrong. It is the very touching, hilarious life story of an old man who was once an artist during an important period of art in America. Although his works were shabby, he was very close to many of the most important artists of this particular movement, and he has many revealing, touching anecdotes that he shares sporadically.
