This is a very good story about three friends who have been through a lot of troubles in their lives, but have had each other to help them through. Now they are facing a variety of problems: loss of loved ones, major illness, betrayal by family members, wacky relatives and neighbors, and much more. Their friendship is the thing that holds them together, and it is symbolized by their Sunday lunch every week at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat diner in their small Indiana town. The Supremes are three women who have been friends since childhood. Each one is currently facing a crisis, Odette has health problems, Barbara Jean is guilt ridden about her past and Clarice has to deal with a cheating husband. I really liked the three main characters and their significant others. Parts of the book were hilarious, like the horrible wedding, while others were heart breaking.
