Entertaining. And good that I didn't know anything about it, knew none of the hype, not a bit of it.

This is a brillant book; the author's writing style is unique and wonderful. Its not pretentious or, at least, the characters are no more pretentious than anyone who owns a private island near Martha's vineyard would be. Why read if not to enter another world? The main character is actually very humble; that's why the ending is so surprising.

I can understand some of what Cadence feels when describing to Gat how bad it feels to deal with the pain she experiences. "You have no idea what it feels like to have headaches like this. No idea. It hurts […] It makes it hard to be alive, some days. A lot of times I wish I were dead, I truly do, just to make the pain stop."
