Shelves: unfinished

50 pages in and I'm done. The writing is far too aware of itself, making it impossible to connect with the main character who, quite frankly, strikes me as shallow and missing vital pieces - a victim of contrived narration. Feels like Isaacs was under a deadline for this one. ...more
