I read this several years ago, and am glad to have kept it to re-read. It's a gem of a book, narrated by a young girl (coming of age) and the characters in her life. Gorgeous writing!

First I have to say...What a
beautiful cover! I wanted to
buy this book just for the cover art.
But inside is also a beautifully written
novel, with lovely characters and
little surprises throughout. In the background,
I sensed the light pencil of creative writing
classes, but not enough to annoy me.
Recommended.

This book was all right, but nothing in it that stays with the reader over time.
