I suppose the point of this book is that a beautiful woman can be quite ugly. Lacey Yeager is a compelling example of that sort of specimen, but I might argue that she could be a teensy weeny bit more self aware in Martin's An Object of Beauty. The novel tells the dishy back-room story of the world of art buying and selling and of the gallery gang in NYC.

I LOVE Steve Martin. I have so enjoyed Roxanne, the Jerk, his SSL skits (two wild and crazy guys) and he plays the Bango! I was excited to read this book since he is all talented.
I would probably give this book 3-1/2 stars. If you have an appreciation for Van Gogh, Cezanne, Renoir and Picasso you may like this book. If you don't even know who these characters are - you probably won't.
