The subject matter is fascinating; the book is not. The first part of the book gives a basic rundown on the setting, people and events of the 1941 murder of aristocrat and famed playboy Lord Errol in British colonial Kenya, up to and including the court case of the sole man accused of the murder. Although this part read like an extended newspaper article, I wish this had been the premise of the entire book. For it was the second part of the book that made me lose interest.
