I wasn't sure how to rate this. While I liked the story, it went against my traditional observations about werewolves. I was baffled about how "The Pack" could be so all-powerful and elitist while there were so many mutts out there. Clay's treatment of Elena was misogynistic and Elena's treatment of Philip so pathetic that it made the whole lot unlikeable. I did enjoy the read so I will probably read more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale! A great new twist on the werewolf theme, Elena is smart, strong, witty and all-too-human (pun intended), and I loved her!! And, those steamy scenes with her and Clay made me think perhaps being a werewolf might not be *too* bad! A great summertime read, and now I can't wait to read Stolen to see if the ever-after turns out happily or not

Some of the sex scenes were too much. I was confused as to who is suppose to be the love interest and what the other males were for the first half. The story was well done though.
The debut novel by Kelley Armstrong and the best of her works to date. This was a fresh and exciting take on the shapeshifter genre long before the paranormal genre kicked into overdrive. It remains one of my favorites in an increasingly overcrowded and overplayed field.
