Great book! I needed this after reading the dreadful City of Glass. I think that this is the best book in the series since Storm Front. Harry has more energy, a grittier edge, and is now a real bad ass.

Harry Dresden is having a really bad go of it. His girlfriend has left him to deal with her new life, the white council want his hide, he is so down that he hasn’t cared to much about his up keep and he is about to loose his business. What else can happen?

Well, Queen of Winter Court, Mab, is requesting Harry Dresden’s help, but he turns her down. Then when he has to go up in front of the White Council and finds out how much trouble he is in, maybe helping the fairie isn’t all that bad, especiall Harry Dresden is having a really bad go of it. His girlfriend has left him to deal with her new life, the white council want his hide, he is so down that he hasn’t cared to much about his up keep and he is about to loose his business. What else can happen?

Someone has killed the Summer Knight and Mab is being blamed for it but she swears that she didn’t do it. So it’s up to Harry Dresden and the few friends that he actually has to solve the case. He really doesn’t want to get involved in fairy politics and he knows this case is not going go well but what choice does he really have.

He old flame that he thought was dead turns up alive and Elaine helps him get into fairie court to talk mother Summer and mother Winter to try and find out who killed the Summer Knight. He also needs to know who stole his mantel and Harry knows that if he doesn’t get it back it can cause a war between the fairie courts.

While he is in the never never things are getting bad in Chicago as the fairies don’t care if humans get hurt when they are at war. Harry has to put a stop to the war that is brewing and finally gets a tiny bit of help from someone in the white council.

I think of the four books I have listened to so far in this series that this one has been my favorite. Harry has really got himself into some trouble but it was really fun listening to him get out of trouble and the pixies, I loved the pizza obsessed pixies!! I can’t wait to see what sort of trouble Harry get’s into next! Grab these books if you haven’t already read this series!!!

James Marster just gets better and better with each book. He is starting to branch out a bit more with his voices and he had me laughing so hard with his pixie voices!! That was by far the best part out of the book..lol. I am so enjoying listening to him and it is nice having his voice in my ears.
