My favorite Harry Dresden book so far. Maybe because Harry finally stopped lying to Murphy and they actually, honest to God, talked. So, Harry obviously IS capable of learning from his own mistakes. But I also liked the story, the Summer and Winter Courts, the White Council and the werewolves, Harry's friends. I'm glad that this was the first book that I finished in 2014 because it put me in a really good mood.

While any of the 1st 3 books of rsden Files could be a good intro to the series, this book definitely relies on past stories and characters. It's fine as another step into Dresden's world but definitely not one to read out of sequence.

Fairy wars and politiking. I love it.

Some books and authors just have a knack for sucking you in. Butcher's Dresden Files are among them. Faeries this time, and some with attitudes that are hard to match!
