Amazon had the first seven Dresden novels as the Kindle Daily Deal a few months ago. At $1.99 per book, I couldn't resist buying them all. The book was exactly what I thought it would be; a wizard detective in Chicago solving mysteries... and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dark and funny. Do yourself a favor and pick up the audio book, narrated by James Marsters.

Jim, you are a genius! Judging from the cover, I wasn't sure I would like this series. Well, it's true that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Not only is this book witty and exciting, but it had me hooked from the first page. I look forward to the rest of the series!

Pretty good start to the series,
Harry's character is intriguing in a sense and Butcher leaves room for improvement and the possibility for many magical things to occur.
