Harry is great. I love his sense of humor. Can't wait to read the next book.

I called my friend M today. I hated to do it, but I had to tell her that her husband was right: I DO like the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher. At the very least, I liked the first of them.
Harry Dresden is a wizard who advertises his services in the phone book. Not surprisingly, he is the only wizard in the phone book, so he gets a fair share of nut jobs calling him. Fun. A popcorn read, but enjoyable. I'm not driven to immediately go out and buy up all of the other Dresden Files books, but I'll welcome them, one at a time, when I come across them.

Fun & entertaining quick read.
Not high end, but still enjoyable all the same. I liked it enough to add the next book in the series to my to be read list.
I would put it in the same category as a few other series I have read, Rachael Morgan & sookie stackhouse come to mind as far as the type of book. Sort of dry dark sense of humor & kind of out there sense of distorted reality.
Just a fun escapism type of book.

First of the Dresden files. I'm not partial to Urban Fantasy, but I was desperate for some fantasy. It's not what I had expected and I'm looking forward to reading the next couple of books in this series.

So the first book was good, my only complaint was I wished he hadn't made so many references to things we didn't know about as if we were supposed to. Otherwise, a little wordy but solid.
