Ah, Snow Crash. Identifiable as THE cyberpunk novel with a zealous cult following. The only Neal Stephenson book I've ever read before was Cryptonomicon, and that was when I worked in feature development, so I probably scanned most of it. Stephenson has always been a cult writer with legions of fans swearing by him, his current series, and especially Snow Crash.
