A continuation of the Song of Ice and Fire series. This book is somewhat on the depressing side, but the plot continues, and Martin continues to lure you in with his characters. Again, he goes with multiple point of views to share the epic scale of his tale. What can I say about this book....This is one of the only books I have read that actually was beginning to make me angry that nothing was going as I wanted it to. Every time something started to go good it turned and went bad and everytime I thought I was ok with how it went bad it was like Martin threw you a morsal of goodness and gave you hope then crushed it again. It was a good book and as soon as I finished it I picked up the next one.

Very Non-linear story telling. Got a bit tedious with all the battle scenes, but still very good. Thank goodness for the appendix to help keep track of all the houses and characters!

As gripping as the first book. You can't help but fall in love with some of the characters. Can't wait to start the third in the series. ...more
