Without spoiling anything, I will say that this was a bittersweet ending to one of the best fantasy series I have ever read. Calling this a "young adult" fantasy is a disservice, for it is every bit as dark as anything George R. Martin has written. The difference here is that many of the gory or graphic details are left up to the reader's imagination. Once again, I can't recommend this trilogy more highly.
