There are a lot of very erudite reviews of Dune here. Donovan's review is one of the best. Like her, I was uninspired by the Foundation Trilogy and then I found Dune. Wow. It was the first SF book that transported me to a totally believable new universe. Pick this book up and you will not be sorry.
