Philip Pullman, you don't play fair! :^)
You ended The Golden Compass at a pretty good point, there was both a sense of looking forward and resolution. *However*, the end of this novel was a DEFINITE cliffhanger. Thank goodness I checked all 3 books out of the library at once - I'd have hated to have been on tenterhooks waiting for the third volume. The end of The Golden Compass was such an awesome cliffhanger that I had to go and buy books 2 and 3. This series just gains momentum and is such a phenomenal ride! Fantasy fans won't want to miss this one!!!
