This is the second novel I read by Lisa Genova. She is a psychologist and her expertise lies in neuroscience. I enjoy reading books that authors do research. I enjoy reading books that the author shows off her knowledge and research.

Lately, I have been reading a few novels about brain disorders.

The publicist asked if I would like to read Left Neglected. I agreed because I just finished Still Alice a few weeks ago, and enjoyed the writing. The same goes for Left Neglected. The writing is wonder

I learned about Left Neglect many years ago in my neuroscience class. I saw the title of the book and decided to give the book a shot...
Good book. Easy read. I think of many of us can relate to being married to our career and juggling a family. Incredible story on how her life drastically changed in a second!
I would have liked to have read more about her days at the rehab center.

I was a little let down by this sophmore novel by Lisa Genova. I really liked Still Alice alot, but found Left Neglected to be less interesting. Genova doesn't tap into human emotion as well in this novel, and while it depicts the busy lives we lead today, and the perils of our nature - the book falls flat and the characters become unmemorable. I called deeply for Alice, but in Left Neglected I just felt the main character was selfish, and that the story veered off in an odd direction. ...more

I really enjoyed Still Alice... but this one had better character development. The husband seemed more engaged, or perhaps I just liked this one more because he was attentive to Sarah. A quick read, absorbing. Looking for more from Lisa Genova creative & intelligent mind!
