I know this is a little redundant when it comes to my reviews of Lisa Kleypas but I loved this book..
McKenna, oh how could you not love that man.. He is divine, and his young love for the daughter of a duke he knows he can never have... I read this book first...before the Wallflowers series came out and I must admit I fell in love with Marcus back then. He was such a supportive and doting brother throughout the whole time Aline and John tries to deny their childhood attraction to each other. How happy I was to see him again in the Wallflower series later on.

Loved loved this book. John and Aline were beautifully written and their love story and finding a way back to each other in face of personal tragedy and social differences

my second book from Lisa, my first was actually 'secrets of a summer night' and I was super disappointed by that one. this book, however, was a pleasant surprise. at first, I wondered why this book had 19 chapters as it seemed rather long for a novella, only to find out that it contained both Aline's and Olivia's stories. for someone like me who prefers a book to be solely focused on one couple, I did not mind 2 stories in 1 book for this. that was how enjoyable the stories were and I loved Alin ...more
