After having all of Sarah J. Maas's books on my bookshelf and friends recommending them a bonus was that near the end of 2023, I started to get back into reading fantasy novels after quite a few years away from them. I think I’m hooked (blame my daughter-in-law). I love this series, and this second book was no disappointment. I love how the author takes a fairly complete story, then adds a whole new level to entice and entertain.

Did not disappoint. Looking forward to A Court of Wings and Ruin. The author paints a fantastical world with imagery that makes it easy to feel like you're right with the characters as a they travel between realms and come face to face with all the beauty and horror and that unfolds. Personally, I could do without the explicit sex scenes but that's me and no reflection on the author's writing skill.
