This book walked so that the many many others since could run. I kept putting this book off after reading the first chapter many many over the past few years times coz I had a feeling i was really really going to like it and thus,I was hoarding it.. I was correct. I loved it!

The writing was good, the characterization was just enough fantasy sprinkled with mafia terms to keep us in universe without going all dark and gritty borderline assault-y, like nowadays mafia books tend to do.

Read this one with a purpose of dissecting the writing, i.e. critically, but the authors craftsmanship made it hard to. I kept getting pulled in the story and failed in my purpose. For a person who doesn’t read much romance, be it dark, erotic, ya whatever, I enjoyed this book quite a lot.
Guess I’m going to read the other two too.
