I have to stop reading this author...

Maybe it's that this was an earlier work??

This should have been written as a historical romance. It would have been more believable.

1) the man's "tragic" past is a little too...unbelivable. And makes me think very little of his pride and self-confidence. There's just something so UN-manly about him!

Where to begin? Oh, how I wish that I had DNF’d this book a hundred times while I was reading it, but I was determined not to have a third DNF in less than two weeks and toughed it out. I’m regretting that decision now.

The most annoying this about this book was the amount of clichéd metaphors that JTG used. It’s like she Googled “Funny metaphors a Southerner might [never] say.” and just copied and pasted the worst of them. I counted over 30 (I’m sure that I missed even more) o 1 highfalutin star

I counted over 30 (I’m sure that I missed even more) of these atrocities ranging from “fine as frog’s hair” to “as busy as a one-legged cat in a sandbox” and everything in between. I have a good friend from NOLA and not once has she ever uttered anything like that.

I didn’t feel like there was any chemistry at all between Bianca and Jackson. Jackson was moody AF and went from joking to broody and acting like an angry toddler. Bianca was much the same, giving me whiplash with her outbursts.

Another thing that irked me was that Jackson had adopted his best friend’s son and we only see him twice for a few minutes before he is hauled away by the haggard nanny. I didn’t believe Jackson had the feelings for him that he claimed he did. I mean, Jackson is a trust fund baby that doesn’t work for a living and he doesn’t spend any time at all with the boy?!? Not cool, Jackson, not cool.

For most of the read I knew that this was going to end up being a 2 star review. Why only 1 star then? Well, at 98% of the book, the inner monologue of our hero upset me so much that I had to knock off one more star. (view spoiler)Maybe I was so done with the book by this time and totally overreacted but I felt that this was such a tactless thing for JTG to write.

This is the first book by JTG that I’ve rated less than four stars, so the fact that I disliked it so much was a bit of a shock to me. I’m not sure yet if it will stop me from reading more from her or not. Jury’s still out right now. ...more

Heyo! I loved it!

Bianca was an awesome heroine. Actually strong and independent. Sweet and a little innocent with a dash of crazy.

Jackson was broken, but deep down a great man. He's not a man whore. He experienced heartbreak, but he didn't drown himself in nameless woman like every other broken hearted hero.

Together...I heart them forever. 😍

I'm not giving it five stars for two reasons.

One: this wasn't what I would call a "slow burn". They hate each other for about two pages. Then its all lus ...more
